ABSTRACT | ||
Human beings are a unique creation of nature. The essence of humanity lies in their intrinsic quality, which is humanity itself. This is what sets humans apart from all other living beings. According to Rabindranath Tagore, humanity fundamentally means creativity. In his writings, he has portrayed the true essence of humans, their potential, their spiritual desires, and their eternal nature, reflecting these through an inner lens. Tagore observed two dimensions within humans: the finite self the and the infinite. The finite self represents humans as mere biological beings, confined within their individual existence. This self is driven by self-interest, focusing only on personal needs, and struggles to rise above biological instincts. It is deeply tied to ego and individuality. In contrast, the infinite self transcends individual boundaries and connects with all of humanity. This higher self inspires people to engage in noble acts for the greater good. | ||
