ABSTRACT
Natore is a small district situated in the northern part of Bangladesh. Natore was the subdivision of Rajshahi district and it was the district headquarters upto 1825. Many land lords lived in Natore. After the establishment of Zamindari, a new trend was created in the socio-economic activities of this area. The main job of Zamindars was revenue collection, that is related to economical activities during that time. The main objective of this article is to analyze the role of the Zamindars of Natore district in the field of economic sector in Rajshahi and Natore district. An attempt has been made to collect information through various books, journals, reports, thesises and interviews etc. While analyzing the role of the Zamindars in the field of economic sector, this article gives an idea about the economic condition in the contemporary times. This article attempts to provide details of the role of Natore Zamindars in economic development in Natore and Rajshahi district.
