The Concept of Scripturally-Based Giving in Bodhisattvabhumi: A

Bodhisattvabhūmi is a Buddhist scripture and the fifteenth stage of Yogācārabhūmi, authored by Asaṅga, a renowned philosopher of the Yogācāra Buddhist school. The Dānapaṭalam chapter of Bodhisattvabhūmi explores the concept of dāna pāramitā (the perfection of giving). This article endeavors to provide a comprehensive understanding of dāna in a holistic manner. It discusses the character traits of a bodhisattva and the psychological attributes of the recipient. Beyond offering a brief overview of Bodhisattvabhūmi, this study critically and analytically examines the philosophical concept of dāna, shedding light on its deeper significance. | ||
