ABSTRACT | ||
Beetashok Bhattacharya is a poet, essayist and translator. He is well – known as a film-critic, editor also. Creating a new by getting the hidden tradition in heart was his poetry. His desolation from the contemporary poets illuminates his independent glory as poet. His poems are the notable ore in Bengali traditional poems mixed with Vernacular tradition. The mind of Beetashok was of a lover's, philosophy of cheerfulness, desire of creating principal and convergence is enlighten by the eternal light of secularism. Interested in many research and skilled in differentiation, this poet's poetic art has created a vast poetic universe. He is also an exception in modernization. He is much steadier in traditional Indian culture. A special genre of modernisation has been created in Bengali poem with the composition of vernacular tradition. Beetashok is a master of this genre. As an essayist his inquisitive composition of prose has specially attracted the Saraswat society. He has a rare achievement in composing essay. He was always busy in the discovery of the significance of nature, art, village folklore, history, history of literature, post modernisation, foreign history, linguistic, film industry, morphology and aesthetics. The famous and prudent people like Niharranjan Roy, Amalendu Basu and Gopal Haldar has expressed their gracious opinion about his essay literature. In recent times he is a guide of a new path in composing Bengali poem and essay. As a great scholar of Sanskrit, philosophy, history, language and literature, Beetashok has kept his own mark in composing basic essay. The poets and essayist, critics about whom we can know in post modern time, Beetashok is one of them. The mood and mentality of his poetry is illuminated in a different dimension. | ||
