ABSTRACT | ||
The Bengali literature is full of various literary forms. Among them, detective literature is a very popular branch. Readers of all ages are attracted to this type of story. Because such a story begins with a problem and the source of that problem is searched for throughout the story and the solution is described at the end. The person at the root of this problem is the villain or enemy or criminal. In detective stories, the character of this enemy or criminal can be seen in variety. Criminals use their intelligence to cover up their misdeeds and create such a situation that even the detective often has trouble catching them. Such a variety of villain characters can be seen in the story of Bimal Kar’s Kikira character. His villains or criminals think of their own gain by cheating people through banquets, tantra and mantras. Our research paper has been named, ‘Variations in the Chacracter Sketch of Villains in Bimal Kar’s Detective Stories: An Analytical Study’. The main research paper will show the different portrayals of villain characters based on a novel by Kikira. | ||
