ABSTRACT | ||
The cultural and spiritual ties between Japan and India have developed immemorially. Many Indians travelled to Japan, where they were influenced by the country's culture. Those were Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Rashbihari Bose, Radhabinode Pal, etc. Swami Vivekananda went to Japan in 1893 with his friends. Rabindranath Tagore went to Japan in 1916. He narrated his experience in his book ‘Japan Jatrir Diary’ (Diary of a traveller to Japan). Both of them contributed immensely to build cultural and spiritual ties between India and Japan. The objective of this essay is to analyse their contribution and its historical significance. | ||
