The Life of Marginalized People in Anil Gharai's Short Stories Sima Sutradhar, Independent Researcher, Duttapukur, West Bengal, India | ||
ABSTRACT | ||
While exploring the literature of Anil Gharai, one can clearly notice
the author’s selective love for the rural towns. The author’s preference for
the region instead of the township of the center is evident in the naming of
several of his stories. The strange lifestyle of the rural towns, the way of
life, the ups and downs of their life have been repeatedly represented in his
stories and novels. Raised in the warm embrace of rural civilization, Anil
Gharai’s short stories have become clear in the reformation-culture of the
village society, the unique experiential heartbeat of the life and livelihood
of the marginal people. ‘Pokaparban’, ‘Bogulahoot’, ‘Baligarh’, ‘Jalkumari’, ‘Chatak’, ‘Gobrahanu’-
short stories have been tried to highlight this heart beat of the life of the
marginal people. | ||
