The jungle is the mother of the Mundas, the jungle is the motherland of the Mundas. Just as the whole of India is the wealth of life for the Indians, the wealth dearer than life for the Mundas is their jungle, and the jungle is their India for the Mundas. Just as the Indians cannot accept an intruder entering India, the Mundas cannot accept that intruder in any way, similarly, if an outsider or an upper caste or a missionary enters their own jungle and tries to disrupt the lives of the Mundas, the Mundas do not accept it in any way. The Mundas collect their daily food by hunting the fruits, animals and birds of the poor and helpless forest. During festivals, they drink mahua liquor in the Palapar forest and take Madal. Runnu Horo is a Munda child. His parents, in order to free him from his daily life of poverty and helplessness, admit him to the mission. Wild animals can be taken from the forest and kept wherever they want, but the forest can never be taken from the human mind. Stephan Horo came out of his Munda life and became a Christian in the mission and became a Munda young man. But the old friend went to the mission carrying the smell of the soil. And in the jungle of Morangi, the love of Chirki Murmu initially wants to take Stephan Horo, who has become a Christian, back to Munda' s life. But jealousy towards Father Lyndon forces the old Stephan Horo to abandon the Munda young man. | ||
